NanoIC pilot line launches N2 P-PDK v1.0 with advanced SRAM memory macros

This week, the NanoIC pilot line has announced a major update to its Pathfinding N2 Process Design Kit (P-PDK) at SEMICON Europe. The new N2 P-PDK v1.0 introduces a comprehensive library of 29 SRAM memory macros, enabling researchers and designers to explore and benchmark advanced system-on-chip (SoC) architectures with both frontside and backside power routing. This dual configuration, a first for pathfinding PDKs, empowers users to experiment with realistic, next-generation power networks and validate full SoC systems.

By making these advanced features freely available to academic researchers, startups, and design teams, NanoIC significantly lowers the barriers to innovation, empowering the development of next-generation applications, and strengthening Europe’s position in the global semiconductor landscape.

The release also sets the stage for future PDK iterations, with a PDK roadmap including additional logic, memory, and interconnect solutions in the coming years.

The NanoIC pilot line is a pioneering European initiative, hosted by imec, set to provide a leading-edge beyond 2nm System-on-Chip (SoC) pilot line for advanced logic, memory, and interconnect technologies. The project aims to drive European technology leadership across critical markets such as computing, communication, mobility, energy, and health.
