Tyndall Student Excellence Week 2026

Hosted by Tyndall National Institute in collaboration with imec and the NanoIC Pilot Line, the Student Excellence Week offers participants a unique opportunity to engage with leading researchers, gain insights into emerging semiconductor technologies, and develop valuable connections within Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem.

The programme combines expert-led technical talks, laboratory tours, career development sessions, student presentations, networking events, and exposure to world-class research facilities. Participants will:

• Attend expert talks from Tyndall and imec researchers
• Learn about advanced semiconductor technologies and the NanoIC Pilot Line, covering the following topics:
  • Emerging Memory Devices 
  • Semiconductor Materials & Deposition
  • Atomic Level Processing
  • Electrical Characterisation
  • Two-Dimensional Materials
  • Atomistic Modelling & Machine Learning
  • Semiconductor Talent Development
  • Innovation & Commercialisation
  • Careers in Semiconductor Research
• Present their research to peers and experts
• Participate in networking and career-development sessions
• Tour Tyndall’s world-class research facilities
• Meet fellow researchers from across Europe

Registration & practicalities

When: October 5, 2026 - October 8, 2026   
Where: Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland 

How to attend? PhD students and final-year Master’s students, students studying semiconductor-related STEM disciplines, students enrolled at European higher education institutions are warmly encouraged to apply for the program. Places are limited to 35 participants.
